Alison has worked in the energy sector since 2008, predominately with an accounting, economics and advisory focus.. Before Joining ESP Consulting, she worked for Shell International Trading and Shipping Company (STASCo), the vertically integrated Gas, Power, Co2 and Oil Trading house. Her roles and experience have been wide and varied including finance advice and accounting, commercial and economics advice, project delivery, contract negotiation, corporate strategy and market analytics.

Energy trading finance

With a background in Accounting for which she is CIMA qualified and holds a Bsc in Accounting and Finance, Alison has expertise in delivering sector forecasting and developing and maintaining a wide range of analytical and reporting models and frameworks within the Gas, Power and Co2 trading sectors (i.e. dynamic models for storage, transportation valuation, financial reporting etc).
As Management Accountant for Shell Energy Europe, she managed the change of accounting treatment from accrual accounting to M2M for Gas and Power for European traded positions and delivered a suite of reports managing the step-change in requirements.

Energy trading market analytics

Alison has provided economic and commercial advice concerning the development of the global gas industry and with expertise in the transport sector spanning Oil/Products/Dry Bulk and LNG. She developed excel models and market intelligence to challenge costs and build key points of negotiation for multi-million dollar contracts.
By developing economic analysis tools and sound understanding of the global gas industry, Alison developed and provided advice on investment/M&A decisions for global acquisitions in South America and South East Asia.

Project delivery

With unique sector knowledge and building concept design documents, Alison designed and delivered the first LNG trading tracker system within the largest trading house in the world.
As project co-ordinator for a large asset acquisition, she managed working groups and managed group risk exposure and in doing so, redefined of the standard for projects of this size within STASCo.
